(Micropterus Big Blue)
The Wildcat Bass (Micropterus Big Blue) is a rare sub-species of Largemouth Bass. While found worldwide, it is native to the lakes, rivers and swamps surrounding the Lexington, KY area. It is beautifully colored, with scaled hues of Bright blue and white. It grows big and mean on a steady diet of Cardinals, Volunteers, and Commodores. The Wildcat Bass is highly sought after by anglers nationwide and are noted for the aggressiveness of their ‘fight’. Anglers often yell “Go Big Blue!” after catching this ferocious fish.
