Bulldog Bass

(Micropterus Uga)

The Bulldog Bass (Micropterus Uga) is a rare sub-species of Largemouth Bass. While found worldwide, it is native to the lakes, rivers and swamps surrounding the Athens, GA area. It is beautifully colored, with scaled hues of bulldog red, arch black, and chapel bell white. It grows big and mean on a steady diet of Crimson Tidal Bass, Yellow Jackets, Swamp Gators, and Bayou Tigers. The Bulldog Bass is highly sought after by anglers nationwide and are noted for the aggressiveness of their ‘fight’. Anglers often yell “How ‘bout them Dawgs!” after catching this ferocious fish.
